Some Basic Concepts in Chemistry : Molarity and Molality
Molarity and Molality are two fundamental concepts in Chemistry which act as a nightmare for most of the students of Class 11 and Class 12. Follow the video attached to learn and master the concepts thoroughly.
Molarity : It is a concentration unit, defined as the number of moles of solute divided by the number of litres of solution.
Molarity is expressed in units of moles per liter (mol/L). It’s such a common unit, it has its own symbol, which is a capital letter M. A solution that has the concentration 5 mol/L would be called a 5 M solution or said to have a concentration value of 5 molar. Molality : It is a unit of concentration, defined as the number of moles of solute divided by the number of kilograms of solvent. Molality is abbreviated as molal. [source : https://www.thoughtco.com/molality-definition-in-chemistry-606375 ]
